The StudyHub, an app for painless tutor hiring.
The Study Hub is a user-friendly platform designed to connect students and guardians with qualified tutors, addressing the limitations of traditional tutor-finding methods. By focusing on personalized needs and preferences, the platform offers an intuitive way for users to find tutors with specialized skills, or those who can cater to unique challenges such as disabilities or age-related needs. Below, you'll find the mockups and design solutions I created to make the user experience seamless and efficient.

Problem
Finding a tutor that meets specific needs can be a challenge, especially for families with unique requirements. For example, an immigrant family with a child attending school in a new country might need a tutor who not only understands the subject matter but also speaks the child's native language. Balancing these complex requirements with accessibility, such as proximity or online availability, makes the process even more daunting.

StudyHub is an app designed to help students of any age find the right tutor for their needs.

The following flows show how a student would access their schedule and see what their professor has prepared for the class.

Approach
To address this issue, I started by analyzing existing tutor-matching platforms and identifying their shortcomings, particularly for users with non-standard needs. I focused on creating a seamless and inclusive user experience, beginning with wireframes that emphasized accessibility and personalized search filters. User interviews helped shape the design, ensuring features like language preferences, subject expertise, and online options were central to the platform. I also explored ways to simplify the onboarding process for tutors, making it easier for a diverse range of professionals to join the platform.

The professor/tutor information is comprehensive, allowing students to schedule classes by date and hour. A final confirmation screen provides a summary of what’s being scheduled.

The confirmation screen, as well as the message feed, lets students see who they’ve messaged!

Solution
The Study app allows users to quickly find tutors based on a variety of parameters, such as location, subject expertise, and language proficiency. For those unable to find a nearby tutor, the app provides online class options. By preloading user preferences, including language needs and subjects, the app simplifies the search process and ensures compatibility. The app’s focus on inclusivity and accessibility makes it a reliable resource for families with complex educational requirements.
